Travel Information

BY ROAD
There is good access via the A3 London-Portsmouth trunk road linking with the M25 at Junction 10. From London turn off the A3 at Milford and take the A286 direct to Haslemere. From Portsmouth, turn off at Liphook or at the Hindhead crossroads signposted Haslemere. London is 44 miles and Portsmouth, 26 miles. Channel Tunnel, Ebbsfleet, Ashford, Dover, Folkestone and Portsmouth all within 1 hour to 2 hours’ drive.

BY TRAIN
Excellent train services operated by South West Trains provide regular direct services from London (Waterloo) to Portsmouth Harbour, stopping at Haslemere. Travel time from London is approximately 50 minutes and Portsmouth 45 minutes. 0845 7484950 (24 hr).

BY BUS
There are bus services from Guildford, Godalming, Aldershot, Farnham, Chichester and Bognor Regis, as well as local services round the town and neighbouring villages. Pick up a bus & rail timetable at the station, library or Haslemere Visitor Information Centre.

BY NATIONAL EXPRESS COACH
From London (Victoria) and Portsmouth. Phone National Express for details 0870 5808080. Coach stop at Hindhead (1.7 miles from Haslemere). Local connection by bus or taxi (check connection details).

BY AIR
Heathrow 08700 000123, Gatwick 08700 002468, and Southampton 08700 400009 airports are about one hour’s drive and can also be reached by train and coach. Stansted within 2 hours’ drive.

BY FERRY
Regular services to and from France to Portsmouth (1 hour drive) and Dover (11/2 to 2 hours drive)

WALKING
Guided town walks are available on selected Sundays from May-September. Walks start at 2.30pm and last approximately 11/2-2 hours. See Town Diary on www.haslemere.com or contact Haslemere Museum for dates and starting points.

CYCLING
Haslemere Station lies at the start of the Surrey Cycleway Link.
